A lil’ this, a lil’ that, and for the purpose of this trip, Dewald will be the man responsible for the motion images captured on this trip. More specifically; the videographer. Born in Pretoria, moved around a bit and then settled for most of his school years in Joburg before moving to Paris, France, at the age of 16 where he finished his last two years of high school. Thereafter, he moved to Boston, MA, USA to attended at Boston University where four years later he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2008; majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in Hotel Management. The next year and a half was spent mostly between Paris and India; starting a small clothing line called Behemoth of Moscow, while also obtaining some cooking skills from the culinary institute Le Cordon Bleu, all the while doing some ‘freelance’/'pro-bono’ photography amongst it all. After visas ran out, and realising he neither had a real passion for clothing or cooking, he made his way back to South Africa, more specifically Cape Town in 2010 and soon started Thelonious Studios – a small and cosy photography studio named after his dog, Thelonious aka Theelo aka Pooch. A short while later, and having met Lesedi Rudolph they started a small production company called One Dog Chicken Productions. After a couple years of operations, the two decided to go separate ways, and Dewald went on to start a boutique creative agency called The Grand·Kids Collective. And this brings us to here. The now.
